Looking to keep your feet warm this winter? You’ll want one of the best battery heated socks.
Cold feet can ruin almost all winter outdoor activities but they can also make sleeping very difficult.
In the past, battery heated socks were a niche product. These days, however, they are very popular and used by many people.
Before getting into the electric socks you should know what to look for before making a choice. There’s a lot of differences between these socks and the one you want depends on your needs.
Every sock is designed to do something different and you’ll find one that suits you perfectly on this site.
Next you need to look at battery type. Mainly there are two kinds to choose from – rechargeable and disposable. Of the two, I like rechargeable better for a few reasons. Mainly you won’t have to run out to the store all the time to buy replacements.
Most rechargeable batteries can be recharged over 500 times. That means you’ll get a few years before needing to replace them. Generally speaking higher-end heated socks come with rechargeable batteries.
The main benefit with disposable batteries is you can always bring extra along with you. If you bring a few backups, you won’t have to worry about them running out of battery. The cost of constantly buying these batteries adds up though.
After that you should look at the heat settings. Most heated socks come with three: high, medium and low. Some come with a fourth too. Others have what’s called a boost setting and this gives you bursts of high heat to conserve battery. All this means that you can adjust the temperature levels according to the environment and weather around you.
Some batteries can last up to 3-4 hours, while others last for 12 hour or even more. The lower the heat setting, the longer the battery lasts. Some socks come with a remote control or can be operated using a Bluetooth. Most batteries are discreetly hidden within the socks.
Lastly you need to set a budget and this typically comes down to your needs. People facing very cold weather, like skiers or mountain climbers, will need to spend more. People looking to shovel the driveways can spend less.
There are top-of-the-line socks that cost nearly three hundred dollars and less advanced heated socks that cost around $40.
There are lots of cheap rechargeable heated socks on the market that use low quality batteries. I do not recommend you invest in them. They will disappoint you in no time.
They do not heat evenly and you could feel the wires and heating elements. In addition, the battery packs are bulky and could not perform in very cold temperatures.
Some socks must be hand washed, others are machine washable. If cared for properly, they will last you for many uses.
Whether you want just to keep your feet warm in your office, prevent them from freezing while playing outside or just for falling asleep without disturbing your significant other with your cold feet, battery heated socks are the best solution.
Are you happy now because you’ll have warm feet now?
